There's
nothing like starting the week off with some brand spankin' new juice
recipes, so here ya go... 50+ of my favorite recipes!
*** Just a few little tips***
Kale is pretty tasteless, so I like to add it to almost every recipe! It's an easy way to sneak some greens in your juices.
If you're craving a coke or maybe you're doing a cleanse and need a little boost, add sparkling water
to any of the recipes and it adds a little flare to your juice. I love
adding sparkling water just to switch things up and trick my mind!
Another fun thing to do with your juices is add chia seeds!
They add a little bit of texture and they're packed with health
benefits! Check out Chia seed benefits online when you get the chance,
you wont regret it!
There are a lot of fruit recipes
in my blog... I get asked all the time if drinking mostly fruit juice
is ok because of the high carb and high sugar content. Well, for me it
was not only ok but drinking mostly fruit juices is how I lost
20lbs. When I first started juicing I jumped into these crazy veggie
juices thinking I would magically love the taste of vegetables but boy
was I wrong. In fact, drinking those straight veggie juices was kind off
a turn off because I thought "juicing" was gross. So my advice to you
is start off slow... make those really yummy fruit juices and then slowly
start adding in the veggies. Before you know it, you will be craving
fresh produce and a homemade V8 will sound and taste delicious BUT it's
no change your taste buds will make over night.
Happy Monday and Happy Juicing!

I have a question.... so I've been juicing with my dad. He is a big time juicer, but he told me it's not too good to mix juicing fruits and vegetables. ....any input because I know you do mix them
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa,
DeleteHmm, that's the first I've heard of that, I'll have to look into it. I started juicing after watching Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. Its a really great documentary and I highly recommended watching it! I pretty much base all of my juices and cleanses after that, and what raw juice bars recommend. Neither in the documentary nor the at the juice bars has anyone ever said that mixing fruits and veggies is bad. I've also read multiple juicing books that have never mentioned that issue either. These are the books that I have read and they might answer more of your question on mixing things, The Complete Book of Juicing by Michael T Murray, The Juicing Bible by Pat Crocker, Super Juicer, and Juicing for Beginners. All the recipes in those books mix both :)
Hey Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI have been juicing but can only do when I'm home since i have no juicer at work! But i was wondering how long does the juice stay good for, lets say if i made them all in the morning before work and took them with me to work?? will they stay good, that way i can do them throughout the day??

ReplyDeleteHey Bianca,
ReplyDeleteok there are a lot of opinions out there about this. Juice does lose its nutrient value pretty quickly... I talk about it in a lot of detail in a previous blog. However, I have stored juice up to 5 days. I usually do two huge juice preps a week... one sunday evening and one on wednesday. I make enough to take with to work and have for lunch and what not. Hope that answers your question! Check out some of my other blogs tho... I went into a lot of detail about what exactly happens to the fruit when you're juicing it.
Hi! I want to replace meals with juicing & was wondering how many oz your recipes make? Is it just for one juice or multiple at a time? Also how many non juice meals do you eat a day?
ReplyDeleteHi! typically the recipes make 8oz.. there are some that make a little less and some that make a little more but all usually around 8oz. They are just for one juice so if you are making juice for multiple people then you will have double the recipes! As far as how many "non-juice" meals I have a day, right now I am still doing my "fit in feb challenge" which was my last blog. I went into a lot of detail about what I eat when Im not juicing so maybe have a look at that... It has a lot of really great examples of what I typically do! and also, I have example days with juicing and clean eating in my "Non-Juicing grocery" list blog :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Ashley! Ok, so I didn't think I would like "fire me up", but I LOVE it! Amazing list... and wonderful blog. Thank you for posting your passion! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for all the recipes. Its fun to get new ideas from a fellow juicer. The mint leaves are new to me. Do you stick those in the juicer? Is it hard to clean? I too saw fat, sick and nearly dead. What a inspiration!
ReplyDeleteRachelle,
ReplyDeleteI stick them straight into the juicer... usually first before I do anything else so that the apples can help push the leaves out. They aren't messy! It's just like juicing most other things! And yes, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead is very inspirational!!! Thank you for the comment !
Ash thank you for not only being my inspiration for juicing but for being a wonderful titleholder for New Mexico World. We (Stef and I) are so proud of you! DC here we come!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the valuable information and insights you have so provided here...
