Every now and then I like to give my body a break from a
solid food and do a juice cleanse. Our
bodies are trained to digest food all day every day, so from time to time it’s
important to give our digestive system a rest. I find this to be vitally important for my
health, both physically and mentally.
Fresh fruit and vegetable juices provides a way for us to get easily
digested nutrients into our bodies. Not
to mention, you will feel so hydrated and rejuvenated! Doing a juice cleanse is a fantastic way to
jump start a healthy diet, weight loss, and reset your system with nutrient
rich fluids!
Pre- Cleanse:
Drink 8 glasses of water a day
Eliminate the bad foods in your diet ie. cokes, processed
sugar, fried foods, alcohol etc.
Cut back on caffeine
Try and eat a plant- based diet during the days leading up
to your juice cleanse.
Lighten up your diet to help with hunger cravings
During Cleanse:
Start each day with 1 glass of hot lemon water
Make sure to drink your 6 juices each day
Stay on schedule with your juices. Try and drink 1 juice every two hours.
Try to avoid any solid food because it slows the detox and
cleansing process
If you have to eat, choose organic fruits or veggies
Light exercise
Post Cleanse:
Start easing solids foods back into your diet. Start with organic fruits and vegetables the
first day. The second day add nuts,
seeds, and organic grains. The third day
you can add organic meats and fish.
